Full Description
An archaeological watching brief was carried out to the rear of 63-65 High Street, Sevenoaks during groundworks associated with the construction of two new houses. Two trenches were excavated on the line of proposed service trenches. Post medieval features were encountered in the trench on the eastern side of the site. These included the corner of a stone wall, a metalled surface and an undated hearth. In the other trench, on the western side of the site, a post medieval cess pit was found. This had been filled with rubbish and capped with sand and clay.(1)
