Full Description
An aerial photograph has suggested there may be an Anglo-Saxon cemetery close to Flete Road. They are clearest on Google Earth images of April 2007. The ring ditch is c.10m across and the possible graves are located to the south.(1)
Cropmarks of a ring ditch c.11m in diameter and at least 15 graves are visible in aerial photographs :Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007 and 07-APR-2021 and EARTH.GOOGLE.COM MAY-2007 ACCESSED 08-NOV-2023. A large cropmark macula- probably a post medieval extractive pit to the south of the ring ditch and west of the graves. These features have been mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024.(2-4)
