Monument record TR 05 SE 19 - Roman cremation burials, Thruxted Mills, Godmersham
Summary
Three 1st century Roman cremation burials were found during works to extend Thruxted Mills in 1955. All three burials consisited of a burial urn of coarse grey local ware accompanied by a Samian plate. The fragments of a 1st century brooch were also found and all these finds are now thought to be located at the Royal Museum at Canterbury.
