Monument record TR 05 SE 43 - Site of telegraph station, Chilham
Summary
A telegraph station was formerly located at the village of Old Wives Lees near Chilham. The station was constructed in 1796 and lines from Chatham, Sheerness and Deal all ran through here. No trace of this struture could be found on the Ordnance Survey historic maps. It is unsure whether this is may be an indication that the station was demolished before the 1st edition was released c.1861.
