Full Description
A mound, some 16.0m in diameter and 1.3m in height, lies on the summit of a ridge of the Challock Forest at TR 04005060. Although planted with young conifer it is in good condition. It position and general appearance suggests a bowl barrow. Surveyed at 1:2500. (1-3)
From the National Heritage List for England:
The monument includes a bowl barrow situated on a clay-capped, chalk hill forming part of the Kent Downs. The barrow has a roughly circular mound 16m in diameter and 1m high surrounded by a ditch from which material used to construct the barrow was excavated. The ditch has become infilled over the years but survives as a buried feature c.2m wide.(4)
