Full Description

[TR 0168 6131] An Anglo-Saxon loom-weight, in Maidstone Museum, was found in 1954 in a trial hole for the foundations of the new Post Office at the corner of East Street and Newton Road, Faversham (see Illustration Card). (1) The Post Office is centred at TR 0166 6128. The loom-weight is on exhibition in Maidstone Museum (Acc. No. 116/1954) and was donated by R. F. Goodfellow. It was found by E. W. Harry Engineer, of Valleyfield, Kingsmead, Felpham, Bognor Regis, Sussex (2). Additional reference (3).
