Full Description
Second World War Emergency Water Tank established in early 1944 on the eastern corner of the junction of Lawn Road and High Street, Northfleet. It was to provide an instant and ready-use supply of water for fighting fires in its neighbourhood caused by an air raid. It supplemented the mains supply. Its design is not known but was probably circular or polygonal, with walls about 2 m high, to contain the water. It would have been decommissioned by the Spring of 1945 and removed probably by the end of that year.
