Second World War public air raid shelter at 49/50 High Street, Gravesend. Its design and form are unknown but it was probably located within the basement of this shop premises and strutted with timber or steel to increase its resilience. It is first noted in a council minute of 1942 but is likely to have originated in 1939/40 and to have been decommissioned around the end of the war in Europe in 1945. The shop premises still exist.
