Second World War air raid wardens post built in 1939 on the eastern corner of the junction of Lawn Road with Northfleet High Street. It is a rectangular concrete structure with a flat roof (3m x 3.5 m x 2 m high). A staggered entrance is in its south elevation. There are traces of original electrical circuitry on the inside walls. It was one of a number of such posts serving Northfleet and was a focus in the incident reporting chain for coordinating the emergency services in the event of injury or damage resulting from an air raid. It was also a place from which patrolling wardens enforced blackout restrictions. The post was decommissioned at the end of the Second World War in Europe in 1945 and reccommissioned for a time in 1956 during the Cold War.
