Full Description

Second World War air raid wardens post on the north side of Waterdales, Northfleet. This was a small rectangular concrete structure with a flat roof, located next to the path from Waterdales into the recreation ground the NW. In 1940 it succeeded the temporary post earlier located at the Fleet Tavern, also in Waterdales. As one of a network of such posts, it was a local focus in the incident reporting chain for coordinating the emergency services in the event of injury or damage resulting from an air raid. Its wardens also enforced blackout restrictions in their neighbourhood. It would have been decommissioned by 1945 and demolished by 1946.
