Full Description
Second World War Defended Locality DL48, centred on the junction of Grove Road with Stonebridge Road, Northfleet. It was probably designated in 1940 and was headquartered at the Territorial Army Drill Hall in Grove Road. The nature of the defences is unknown but the garrison was 31 Home Guards, with 23 rifles, 3 Browning Automatic Rifles, 1 tank guns + 1 mobile squadron of 84, with 63 rifles, 4 Browining Authomatic Rifles, 3 Browning Machine Guns and 5 tank guns. The defended Locality would have been decommissioned by early in 1944. There are no remaining traces.
