Full Description
Second World War Defended Locality DL30 at Shears Green, Northfleet. Part of the anti-invasion defences, it was centred on the junction of Coldharbour Road and Hog's Lane. It is likely to have originated in 1940. The nature and exact placement of the defences is unknown but the garrison was 62, with 36 rifles, 3 Browning Automatic Rifles, 2 Browning Marchine Guns and 2 Northover Projectors. The defences are likely to have been decommissioned by early 1944. There are no evident surviving traces.
