Summary

Second World War Battle Headquarters for Defended Locality DL31, at the Pepper Hill electricity Sub-Station, Northfleet. This anti-invasion defence was for the protection of the electricity substation, and probably originated in 1940. It would have been decommissioned by early 1944. There are no known remains.

Full Description

Second World War Battle Headquarters for Defended Locality DL31, at the Pepper Hill electricity sub-station, Northfleet. This controlled the defence of the sub-station and the access north along the flanking railway track to the west and Pepper Hill road to the east. This was part of the anti-invasion defences and would have involved adapted use of a building within the sub-station or a new structure. It would have been decommissioned by early 1944. There are no known remains.
