Full Description

Second World War Battle Headquarters (for Defended Locality DL21) at Denton Sewage Works, Mark Lane, Gravesend. Adjacent to the Denton Heavy Anti-aircraft gun battery, this formed part of the anti-invasion defences and had probably been established in 1940. It would have involved the adaptation of sewage works premises but the nature of this is unknown. The Battle Headquarters, manned by the Home Guard, would have been decommissioned by 1944. There are no known remains.
