Second World War First Aid Post established in 1941 at the Child Welfare Centre at the junction of Cornwell Avenue and Whitehill Road, Gravesend. This is a single-storey brick building with a pitched ceramic tiled roof. Whatever part of it was adapted, it was designated for the initial care of those injured during an air raid. The First Aid Post would have been given basic health care facilities and pre-positioned medical supplies. It would have been decommissioned at the end of the Second World War in Europe in 1945. In modernised form the building still exists in continued use for social services purposes.
