Full Description
First World War Voluntary Aid Detachment hospital adapted from the Great Hermitage, a large old building in Hermitage Road, Higham. This was overspill accommodation manned by auxiliary nurses and doctors for patients from the services. No other details, such as starting or finishing dates or the nature of the adaptataion of the building, are known. The house was demolished after a fire in 1938.
