Full Description

Second World War Emergency Water Tank erected probably in 1940, at the western end of Gordon Promenade, Gravesend. Of uncertain form, it supplemented the mains and was placed to provide an instant supply of water for fighting fires caused by an air raid in the neighbourhood. It would have been decommissioned by the end of the Second World War in Europe in 1945 and removed by 1946.
