Summary

Second World War light anti-aircraft battery VG3 in a field east of Thong Lane, Thong, near Gravesend. This was one of four batteries which appear to have been sited for the defence of RAF Gravesend. It consisted of a quad gun of 4 Vickers machine guns. It was in position by May 1942 but probably originated earlier. Its date of removal is not known.
