Summary

Second World War light antiaircraft battery VG4 in a field west of Thong Lane (now in the Riverview Park housing estate), Gravesend. One of four batteries which appear to have been sited for the defence of RAF Gravesend. It consisted of 4 x 40mm Bofors guns. It was in position by May, 1942 but probably originated earlier. Its date of removal is unknown.
