Second World War air raid wardens post on the north side of Brown Road, Gravesend. It was one of a network of posts to serve Gravesend. It appears to have been of a standard rectangular type and built in concrete. It is likely to have been built in 1939. It reported to a Civil Defence control centre in Gravesend. As such, it was a local focus in the incident reporting chain for coordinating the emergency services in the event of injury or damage resulting from an air raid. It was also a place from which patrolling wardens enforced blackout restrictions. It would have been decommissioned at the end of the Second World War in Europe in 1945 and would have been demolished at an unknown date post-war.
