Second World War air raid wardens post within private house premises at 1 and 3 Whitehill Road, Gravesend. It was one of a network of posts to serve Gravesend. It reported to a Civil defence Control Centre in the middle of Gravesend. As such, it was a local focus in the incident reporting chain for coordinating the emergency services in the event of injury or damage resulting from an air raid. Its patrolling wardens also enforced blackout restrictions. The post was established in 1939 but the nature of any adaptations to the house premises is unknown. It would have been decommissioned by no later than the end of the Second World War in Europe in 1945. The premises were demolished at an uncertain date post-war, thought to be about 1965, and is now a car park.
