Full Description
Second World War air raid siren in the NE angle of the junction of Suffolk and Canal Roads, Gravesend. It was sited to warn the surrounding community of an approaching air raid and to advise when a changed note when the raiders passed. No other details are known. It may have been mounted on the roof of an existing building. It probably originated in 1939, to be decommissioned by 1945 and probably removed by 1946. The site is now a housing development.
