First World War anti-aircraft battery for a 3-in. gun in a field (now a recreation ground) on the east side of School Lane, Higham. It was present in 1917 but it may have been installed earlier, and formed part of a wider distribution of single-gun battery sites. A 45 ft. x 15 ft. concrete base which had formed part of the battery still survived in the Second World War. The precise location of the battery within the field is not known. The removal date of the gun is uncertain. Althougth there are no obvious remaining traces there may be buried archaeology.
