Summary

Cold War reserve Post Office communications bunker at the present British Telecom telephone exchange on the NE corner of the junction of Ordnance Road with Milton Road, Gravesend. It is thought to have consisted of a small chamber for a telephone switchboard and adjacent sleeping accommodation. No other details are known. It is believed that the bunker originated at the time the telephone exchange was built in c. 1960. It would have been decommissioned at the end of the Cold War in 1990 and is said still to exist.
