Full Description
Second World War light anti-aircraft position for a 40 mm Bofors Gun on the eastern extremity of the roof of Shornemead Fort. This was for local air defence of the assets in and around the fort. Its slight remains are of a bolt ring or hold fast for the gun on a slightly raised concrete base. It was in position by at least as early as May, 1943 and perhaps remained until 1945.
