Monument record TQ 67 SW 1313 - Grange Road Second World War Drill Hall, Gravesend
Summary
Territorial Army drill hall in the western angle of the junction with Pelham Road, Gravesend. Its design is not precisely known but is thought to have been at least partly a steel frame structure and of broadly rectangular shape, consisting of a large hall section with administrative rooms at its side. It was built in 1938/9 and was destroyed by enemy bombing in 1943. The site is occupied by housing. The Nissen Hut type of structure used by the Army Cadet Force on the southern extremity of the site might be a remnant.
