Full Description

Second World War civil defence stores established in 1940 in small temporary single-storey lean-to buildings added to the outside of the southern boundary wall of New Tavern Fort, Milton Place, Gravesend. They were partly red and partly yellow brick construction, with double wooden doors and roofed in south-sloping corrugated iron and corrugated asbestos sheets. They formed part of a pattern of distributed stores across Gravesend, utilising any available spaces. The buildings would have been decommissioned by no later than the end of the Second World War in Europe in 1945 and, having become in a poor state of repair, were demolished c. 1985.
