Full Description
Second World War Emergency Feeding Centre at Whitehill School, School Road, Gravesend. Designated in March 1941, this 1930s school was earmarked as one of a number in the district for the feeding of those who might become displaced from their homes and from cooking facilities as a result of enemy bombing. It contained pre-positioned cooking boilers, utensils and crockery but details of layout and the precise accommodation to be used are not known. It presumably continued in this designation until 1945 and the school still exists.
