Full Description
Second World War Home Guard command post at Hartland House, on the west side of Sole Street Road, Sole Street, Nr. Cobham. This was use made of an existing brick house with a pitched roof. Until 1968 one of the rooms was still mounted with a map of the Cobham area, indicating the positions of A, B and C Platoons of the Cobham Home Guard. A former owner was Captain Roberts of the Home Guard who may have commanded the company that included these three platoons. There are no known remaining traces of wartime use.
