This structure was mapped from military aerial photographs as part of the SE Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. It was first visible in aerial photographs taken in February 1941 [1] and has been mapped from a run taken in September 1946 [2]. It is still visible in April 1950 [3] and the area has been re-developed as a caravan site by June 1980 [4]. The pillbox is a six sided irregular hexagonal shape in plan and is thought to be a Type 24. It measures 5.5m in length.
