Full Description
(TQ 454417) A Romano-Gaulish pipe clay figurine was found in the garden of Ludwalls Farm, Cowden. It is a figure of a nude boy, probably holding a bird, now broken at the waist, and stands 5cm high. The figurine is in fine white pipe clay produced in a two-piece mould. It is characteristic of the work of the clay figurine modellers who worked in the Allier district of France in the latter half of the 2nd century AD. The figurine is in the possession of Mr E C Webber, formerly of Ludwalls Farm. (1)
