Concrete pillbox.
Type 24 pillbox, facing NW. In sound condition. By roadside, N of Allhallows, Isle of Grain. (1)
The structural remains of the pillbox described by the previous authority (centred at TQ 8314 7841) and traces of a surrounding barbed wire entaglement (c.85m in diameter) extending into the fields on either side of the road could be seen on RAF aerial photographs taken between 1942 and 1947. Both elements were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (2)
