A Second World War pillbox (possibly a type 24) located at TQ 8242 7813 at the edge of a field c.500m south of the coast.. This pillbox is one of a number in a line located inland, running parallel to the coast, forming part of the extensive wartime coastal defences around the Thames and Medway rivers. This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (1)
