A Second World War pillbox (possibly a type 24) located at the corner of a field at TQ 8147 7780 c.620m inland from the beach. This pillbox is one of a number located along the coast forming part of the extensive wartime coastal defences around the Thames and Medway rivers. Other associated anti-invasion obstacles have now been removed. These features were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (1-2)
