This pillbox stood at the foot of the north slope of an embankment of the London, Chatham, Dover Railway, near the north end of Adisham Railway Station (a significant military target). It may have faced west along Station Road to defend the station, but it may also have been intended to protect the railway, which, locally, formed part of the Dover, Canterbury, Whitstable Stop Line). It was pillbox No.115 in the 1940 list of pillboxes in East Kent (2 December), in Sector 3 of the 43 Divisional Area at the stated Military Grid reference R 674722. It can be seen in immediate post-war aerial photographs, but seems subsequently to have been destroyed, although this is not absolutely certain. Secondary components of the locality, such as excavated defences, may survive archaeologically in the near vicinity.
