Monument record TR 15 NW 666 - Second World War Auxiliary Fire Service water container on the Watling Street Car Park, Canterbury

Around the middle of 1941 an emergency water storage tank was erected in the Watling Street Car Park, containing 200,000 gallons; this was provided with a concrete floor later in the year. This looks to have been a large, rectangular concrete tank, at the northern corner of the Car Park. There was already an Auxiliary Fire Service Action Post in the immediate vicinity; might this explain the location?
