Full Description

A new Cleansing station, where civil-defence personnel whose duties had brought them into contact with poison gas could go for decontamination, had been completed by early April 1944 in a Pavilion on the King’s School Playing Field at St Stephen’s Road. This seems unlikely to have been either of the two present pavilions on this field, although one cannot be certain.
