Building record TR 15 NE 1006 - Second World War Civil Defence First Aid and Ambulance Post on Kingsmead Road, Canterbury

Summary

At the outbreak of war, one of Canterbury’s two first-aid posts seems to have been at the Council Depot on Kingsmead Road. Ambulance and/or stretcher parties seem to have operated from here. The post later combined military with its civilian use as the post dedicated to Group 4 of the Canterbury Fortress garrison.
