Full Description

There was a Second World War Civil Defence warden’s post (Post B/4) at what was then 143 Wincheap Street (the street has since been renumbered). This post was dissolved at some point between July and early October 1940. The Emergency Committee considered replacing it with a post in the cellar of 10 Orchard Street but this was probably rejected. By the end of January 1941 the post had been merged with Post B/4.
