Monument record TR 15 NE 965 - Second World War public air-raid shelter and emergency feeding centre in Messrs Cozens’s Brickworks, Reed Avenue, Canterbury
Summary
There was a public air-raid shelter, making use of a pre-existing kiln-trench, at the former brick kilns at the junction of Sturry Road and Reed Avenue. It was approved for use on 9 January 1940. An emergency feeding centre was established within the shelter at about this time around early 1941.
