Full Description
In mid June 1941 five Nissen huts became available for use as shelters within the Canterbury Nodal Point perimeter. One of these, to hold fifty persons, was installed (dug-in and covered with a mound of earth) on an empty plot at the corner of North Holmes Road and St Gregory’s Road (since built upon). (It had initially been proposed to add this hut to the shelter provision in the Dane John Gardens.)
