Full Description
In mid June 1941 five Nissen huts became available for use as shelters within the Canterbury Nodal Point perimeter. Two of these, to hold one hundred persons between them, were installed (dug-in and covered with a mound of earth) the ‘Elms tennis courts’ on Old Dover Road. This may have been near the present Health Centre. By the end of 1941 a first-aid-post had been established in these huts.
