Monument record TR 15 NE 871 - Second World War Air-raid shelter provision for hop-pickers, Canterbury

Summary

In early October 1940 George Finn offered the Canterbury Emergency Committee the use of a private air-raid shelter in a hop field ‘opposite The Gap’, which had hitherto been used by hop pickers. This was adopted and made available to the public.
