A Type 24 pillbox stands facing north-east, at a junction on Reculver Lane near Old Barns. This was pillbox No.11 in the 1940 list of pillboxes in East Kent (2 December); it was in Sector 7 of the area, at the stated Military Grid reference R 660865. It covered a roadblock about 100m further east along the lane.
