Full Description
By late 1940, as part of the defences of the ‘X-Roads’ Nodal Point, at Barham (see separate entry), there was a roadblock on the Canterbury Road near its Junction with Dover Road. It was covered by a pillbox just to the north. This was roadblock No. 70 in a list of such structures made 2 December 1940. In late April 1941 it was propsed to augment this roadblock with a flame trap or (more likely?) fougasse battery on the approach form the south; it is not yet clear whether this was carried out, however.
