Building record TR 15 NE 876 - Bekesbourne railway station - Second World War fortified house

Summary

Railway station on the Canterbury-Dover section of the Chatham Line. Station built circa 1853-4. From mid 1940 there was a Second World War fortified house adjoining Bekesbourne Hill. The most likely candidate is Bekesbourne Railway Station, which would very likely have been defended since it straddles the Dover, Canterbury, Whitstable Stop Line (locally the London, Chatham, Dover Railway).
