Full Description

By late May 1940 there was a roadblock on Rose Lane, manned by the 1 London Scottish Gordon Highlanders. It was near Northolm Lodge, which may, perhaps have formed part of the obstacle on the south side. The block was ‘to be continuously guarded.’ It may have been part of the defences of the military site at Charlton Park, and may have been covered from a pillbox near the north-west corner of Charlton Park. This was roadblock No. 66 in a list of such structures made 2 December 1940.
