Full Description

In mid May 1940 the 9 Royal Fusiliers moved into the Canterbury area, and ‘A’ Company seem to have set up headquarters at Court Lees. The battalion moved on at end of the month. It is not clear whether they occupied Court Leas Manor or Court Lees Farm (the latter is a Listed Building), or both. There also seems to have been some connection with the nearby Albert Villa(s) on Pean Hill (at the end of the 'drive,' but it is not yet clear what this was.
