Full Description
The footbridge over the River Stour at Chartham Corn Mill had been prepared for demolition, in case of an invasion, by late November 1941. This stretch of the River Stour was adopted as a kind of ‘Stop Line’ line in early 1941, and numerous bridge demolitions were prepared over the following months.
