Monument record TR 05 SE 163 - Second World War roadblock (bridge demolition) Shalmsford Street, Chartham
Summary
There was a Second World War roadblock on a bridge carrying Shalmsford Street over the railway. The bridge had been prepared for demolition by late November 1941. It may have been among the many bridge demolitions in the area which were prepared that year, supplementing a kind of ‘stop line’ along the River Stour locally.
